CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE
In October 1993, Carnival Cruise Lines gave Port Canaveral
its first mega cruise vessel by home-porting the Carnival Fantasy here.
The 2,600-passenger ship sails on three- and four-night cruises to
Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas. The 88,500-ton Carnival Pride began
year-round seven-day sailings from its homeport at Port Canaveral
January 2002. The 2,124-passenger vessel departs Port Canaveral every
Saturday on alternating week-long cruises to the western and eastern
Caribbean. Western Caribbean cruises call at Belize City, Belize; and
Playa del Carmen/Cozumel and Progreso/Merida, Mexico; while eastern
Caribbean voyages stop at the private Bahamian islands of Half Moon Cay
or Salt Cay; St. Thomas/St. John; and St. Maarten.
DISNEY CRUISE LINE
The magic and quality of Disney is yours to enjoy when you sail
aboard the magnificent oceanliners of Disney to "Discover Unchartered
Magic." Disney Magic sets sail on a seven-day Eastern Caribbean
itinerary. Disney Wonder joins the fleet with 3- and 4-day cruises to
the Bahamas, Nassau, and Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. The
Disney Magic will also add a Western Caribbean itinerary.
HOLLAND AMERICA
The luxurious new ms Zaandam is one of the newest members of Holland
America's "next generation" of cruise ships, sails from Cruise Terminal
10 each Saturday. The Zaandam reflects a graceful combination of classic
and state-of-the-art features found on board both the ms Rotterdam
flagship and the Statendam-class vessels. Special features include an
alternative restaurant, Internet Cafe, a third staircase for convenient
access to public rooms and a children's play room, as well as more of
the popular mini-suites with verandahs. The Zaandam's predominant theme
is music and will be featured in the ship's artwork and interior design
elements.
NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE
Norwegian Cruise Line's brand new 92,000, 2,240-passenger Norwegian
Dawn, based in New York from May through October, uses her great speed
to offer seven-day roundtrip cruises calling on four ports in the
Bahamas and Florida: Nassau, NCL's private island Great Stirrup Cay in
the Bahamas, Miami and Port Canaveral, Florida. The Eastern Caribbean
itinerary takes passengers to San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, US
Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands and Great Stirrup Cay,
Bahamas. The Western Caribbean itinerary calls at Georgetown, Grand
Cayman; Ocho Rios or Montego Bay, Jamaica; Costa Maya and Cozumel,
Mexico. Norwegian Dawn is the only ship sailing to the Bahamas and
Florida from New York and the cruise industry's only ship offering Port
Canaveral and Miami as ports of call. NCL will also offer passengers the
opportunity to embark in Port Canaveral for a seven-day roundtrip
cruise.
ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL
In May 2000, Royal Caribbean International homeported the
2,600-passenger Sovereign of the Seas at Port Canaveral offering three-
and four-night cruises to Nassau and Coco Cay, RCI's private island.
Port Canaveral's two-story, 75,000 square-foot Cruise Terminal 9/10 (CT
9/10) is the new home of the Sovereign of the Seas.
SUN CRUZ CASINOS
Las Vegas-style gaming on four decks of cruise ship comfort. Ship
also features live entertainment, restaurant, free welcome cocktail and
hors d'oeuvres. Cruises depart two times daily. Located at the Cove in
Port Canaveral.
STERLING CASINO LINES
Sterling Casino Lines recently upgraded Port Canaveral's Cruise
Terminal 2 to compliment the newly refurbished 1,800-passenger
AMBASSADOR II. On board the AMBASSADOR II you'll find 26,000 square feet
of casino action with 1,000 of the "Loosest Slots" in their luxurious
floating casino, including 50 table games, Las Vegas style entertainment
and dancing, five cocktail lounges, and more. Located at 180 Jetty Dr.,
